Year Grant Funded Position Position Summary:
The Support Coach provides job-embedded instructional coaching to educators, with a focus on improving student outcomes through data-driven instruction and evidence-based practices. This role supports professional learning communities (PLCs), aligns instructional practices with the school's Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) plan, and collaborates with school leadership to promote instructional excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide job-embedded instructional coaching to teachers and instructional staff Analyze student performance data to inform and guide instructional adjustments Facilitate and support PLCs focused on evidence-based instructional strategies Ensure alignment of instructional practices with the school's CSI improvement plan Deliver professional development in small-group and whole-school settings Provide meta-coaching to individuals engaged in coaching cycles Support administration in identifying best practices and establishing accountability systems
Qualifications:
Licensed Educator Demonstrated expertise in implementing the principles of the science of reading Ability to assess a teacher's zone of proximal development and respond with targeted support Experience with Project GLAD® and English Language Development (ELD) strategies Strong skills in data analysis, presentation, and reporting Proficiency in using data platforms (e.g., iReady, mCLASS, BOOST, ELLevations) to support differentiated instruction Knowledge of Building Thinking Classrooms concepts to promote language-rich mathematics instruction Experience working in high-poverty school settings Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a range of educators, including instructional assistants, teachers, administrators, and adult learners Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience in school administration
National Board Certification Position Details:
This is a two-year, grant-funded position ending June 30, 2028 12-month position Compensation is based on the state teacher salary schedule
