About Santa Fe Indian School The Santa Fe Indian School (SFIS) offers a diverse range of departments designed to support the academic, cultural, and personal growth of its students. The Academic Department provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes core subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies, all aimed at preparing students for higher education and career success. Our Native Language Programs play a vital role in preserving and promoting Pueblo Culture & Heritage, offering programs and activities that immerse students in their traditions, languages, and histories. The Student Services Department focuses on the well-being of students, providing counseling, health services, and extracurricular activities to ensure a holistic educational experience. Our Student Living Department oversees our student residential program providing a safe and culturally responsive living environment for our dorm students. Additionally, the Athletic Department encourages physical fitness and team spirit through various sports programs. Duties The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator serves as the steward of the school's academic curriculum, leading the development, alignment, implementation, and continuous improvement of the culture-based, SFIS Curriculum, including Core Values, Foundational Topics, Ideal Graduate Skills, and content standards. In collaboration with the Director of Academic Programs (DAP), Principals, and identified committees, this position oversees curriculum design and instructional frameworks; ensures vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment; leads professional learning and development; and supports instructional implementation. The position guides long-term strategic curriculum planning to promote academic excellence and the development of Ideal Graduates. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master's degree and five (5) years of teacher leadership at a level II license. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction Experience working with Native American students and Native American or Tribal entities.
