Principal Qualifications:
Hold or be eligible for valid Oklahoma Elementary teaching certificate. Have earned a Master's degree (preferred). Have a minimum of three years of teaching experience. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.Position Goal:
To strengthen curriculum and instruction, assuring consistency and coherence across the school site and communication of district expectations and practices. To serve as a mentor and guide for teachers through coaching, modeling research-based practices and professional learning collaborations. To serve as a resource for gathering, assimilating and disseminating instructional materials.Essential Functions and Responsibilities In The Following Categories:
Curriculum Development and Support:
Serve on district curriculum committees. Implement district curriculum adoptions and programs. Participate in summer curriculum development when necessary. Ensure district resources are maintained and stored efficiently; coordinate materials' purchases and dissemination i.e., textbooks, calculators, lab equipment.Professional Learning:
Assist, as needed in the development and implementation of site professional development plans and processes. Implement peer coaching cycles to model and provide support for research-based instructional practices and classroom management strategies. Coach and support new teachers through the beginning years of their teaching in Jenks Public Schools.Instructional Leadership:
Plan, facilitate, co-facilitate and /or participate in instructional meetings e.g., regular planning meetings with teachers, data teams, late-start collaborations and subject area vertical teams. Meet with the Principals on a regular basis for communication and planning. Assist in planning and developing family connections and communications I.e., newsletter articles, literacy, mathematic, health and wellness nights. Assist in developing building schedules. Assist in developing teacher assignments and placing pre-intern and intern teachers. Assist in developing and implementing CLEP and site improvement plans. Serve as a member of site leadership teams, as per site expectations. Serve on interview teams. Participate in out-of-district professional communities.Student Services:
Establish community, college, university connections to extend opportunities for students i.e., internships, mentorships, concurrent enrollment, competitions and events. Assist with student placement during the year e.g., mathematics, world languages and others as necessary. Support building Behavior Plan. Serve as a member of SIT (Stie Intervention Team), per site expectation. Participate in individual student/parent conferences when needed.Assessment:
Facilitate formative and summative assessment processes. Assist with analysis of standardized testing results, development of strategies for improvement, and planning for EOI remediation supports. Assist with establishment of consistency in assessment standards through teacher collaboration. Facilitate the report card process e.g., communication, monitoring for consistency, training. Perform all other duties as assigned.Employment Terms:
Nine (9) months a year Certified Teacher Contract plus 10 daysExtra Duty FLSA Qualification:
