Credentials:
Current Oklahoma teaching certificate
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education. Graduate degree preferred. Training or experience required: At least 3 years of experience as a full time Special Education teacher. Experience in education training teachers or other adults. Experience as a coach or mentor. Advanced knowledge of educational pedagogy and high leverage instructional practices. Reports to: Teaching and Learning

Essential Job Functions:
Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of research-based instructional strategies, Universal Design for Learning. Demonstrate knowledge of the OAS Standards and Frameworks. Demonstrate ability to design and deliver high quality instruction in a variety of grades and/or content areas. Demonstrate knowledge of instructional design and assessments. Demonstrate the ability to provide professional learning opportunities in a variety of formats. Demonstrate an understanding of Professional Learning Communities. Demonstrate the ability to listen to others and remain receptive to new ideas. Demonstrate the ability to plan, collaborate and co-teach with teachers. Demonstrate the ability to effectively educate/mentor technology users. Demonstrate sustained effort and enthusiasm in the quality and quantity of work. Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community. Demonstrate effective time management, organizational skills, and prioritization of work to meet the needs of the users. Demonstrate the ability to follow and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding instruction and be up to date with changing trends in educational pedagogy. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Employees must possess and demonstrate effective communication skills as he/she exchanges information, gives/receives instructions, responds to inquiries, completes forms and prepares correspondence. An employee in this position has regular contact with students and staff; interprets and translates facts and information; explains situations and issues; identifies alternative courses of action; and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. An employee in this position performs skilled, professional level tasks under limited supervision.
