08/05/2026 K-12 ELD Specialist 2026-27 Vacancy (Building(s) To Be Determined) Full-time Contracted Position The Great Valley School District is seeking a dedicated ELD Specialist to provide specialized instruction to support multilingual learners in developing English language proficiency and ensure equitable access to the general education curriculum. The specialist collaborates with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to implement effective instructional strategies that promote academic achievement and language development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Planning and Delivery o Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of multilingual learners and their English Language Development o Utilize various instructional strategies and resources to engage students in the learning process o Integrate language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with content area instruction o Assess and monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring o Administer language proficiency assessments and use data to inform instruction o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and performance o Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and staff about student progress and areas for instructional needs Collaboration and Professional Development o Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support the integration of multilingual learners in the general education classroom o Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELD instruction o Serve as a resource for staff on issues related to MLs and language acquisition Classroom Management and Environment o Create a positive, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement o Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment o Promote cultural understanding and appreciation among students and staff Family and Community Engagement o Build strong relationships with students' families and provide them with resources and support to help their child(ren) succeed o Participate in school and community events to promote the ELD program and engage with stakeholders
Qualifications:
