Job Description

Course Developer - Graduate Sport Management Program POSTED Wednesday, June 03, 2026 Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. Elmira College is seeking an experienced and innovative Course Developer to join the Academic Affairs team to design and develop fully online graduate-level sport management courses for a Master's-level sport management program. The successful candidate will collaborate with academic leadership and subject matter experts to create rigorous, engaging, and learner-centered online courses that align with program outcomes, current sport industry practices, and established online quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in sport management and online instructional design, with demonstrated experience creating graduate-level online learning experiences that meet recognized quality assurance standards such as the OSCQR Rubric. Courses may focus on sport industry systems, economics and policy, sport marketing and media, fan engagement strategies, sport operations and facilities management, event management, and applied strategic sport management practice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design and develop fully online 9-week graduate sports management courses in collaboration with faculty and academic stakeholders Develop engaging asynchronous learning experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and applied problem solving Ensure all courses meet OSCQR Rubric standards for online course quality and accessibility Build and organize courses within the institution's learning management system (Canvas) Create engaging instructional materials including module content, assignments, discussion activities, case studies, multimedia learning assets, and assessment tools Design authentic assessments aligned with graduate-level business competencies and real-world managerial practice
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (doctorate preferred). Appropriate job experience in sports management Demonstrated experience designing fully online higher education courses, preferably at the graduate level Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and online pedagogy Experience applying quality assurance frameworks such as the OSCQR Rubric Experience using Canvas Knowledge of accessibility standards, ADA compliance, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles Strong written communication, organization, and project management skills

COMPENSATION
$2,000 upon completion of course design. This position is not benefit eligible.
