We have an opening for an Education Funding Specialist on our Education Funding Services (EFS) team. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. Considering this model, this role could be based in the following cities: Los Angeles Sacramento Riverside San Diego Position Summary As an Education Funding Specialist , you will support California school districts in determining eligibility for funding in the State School Facilities Program. Acting as a liaison with the California Department of Education (CDE), the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), and other governmental agencies, you will ensure effective communication and project management on behalf of our school district clients.
What you will do:
Support the Education Funding Specialist team in reviewing California school construction and modernization projects to maximize funding opportunities. Communicate with government agency staff to determine project statuses. Manage correspondence and phone communications with internal staff and external clients. Collaborate with architectural project staff and district representatives. File necessary paperwork with appropriate agencies. Oversee specific program activities and projects daily. Consult with city and county planning departments and utility companies to obtain dwelling unit information and fees for state forms. Assist in developing and expediting schedules for project reviews by the CDE and OPSC. Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting progress. Assist in preparing presentations and staff reports for district staff and the School Board as needed. Independently perform complex administrative work, compiling records, logs, and reports related to funding programs and specific projects. Maintain organized filing systems and ensure document accuracy through proofreading and editing.Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience reviewing California school construction and modernization projects to maximize funding opportunities Bachelor's degree in planning, political science, communications, or a related field preferred but not required Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to work effectively and efficiently Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical documentation Strong oral and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with staff, employees, state agencies and school districts Ability to represent the firm professionally in all interactions Willingness to travel within California for day trips or overnight stays Eagerness to learn and grow Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:
