Job Description:
Seeking an Education & Public Outreach Coordinator III to support stakeholder engagement, coordination, and outreach activities under the ATMOS Contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). This role will be on-site and directly support the Health and Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (HAQAST) , facilitating collaboration between scientific, technical, and user communities to promote effective application of NASA Earth science data. In this role, the Education & Public Outreach Coordinator III will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, scientists, and technical teams, supporting coordination of applied science activities, user engagement, and development of user-focused resources that promote adoption of NASA Earth science tools and data products.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities supporting HAQAST initiatives Coordinate between technical development teams and end users to align development priorities and ensure effective tool implementation Collect, synthesize, and communicate stakeholder feedback to inform project direction and enhancements Maintain and track development priorities, user needs, and action items across project teams Support development of user-focused resources, including tutorials, training materials, guidance documents, and outreach content Promote project tools and resources through outreach channels, stakeholder networks, and NASA communication platforms Document and communicate project outcomes, including preparation of summaries, reports, and success stories highlighting user adoption Collaborate with NASA scientists and program teams to ensure technical accuracy and effective communication of Earth science applications
Education & Requirements:
B.S. in Physical Science, Environmental Science, Communications, Public Policy, or Education 6+ years of experience in education, public outreach, project coordination, or applied science program support Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, meeting facilitation, and project coordination across multiple teams Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing outreach materials and technical summaries Experience working with or supporting scientific or data-driven programs (NASA or similar environment preferred) Familiarity with Earth science topics related to air quality, atmospheric composition, or remote sensing is highly desired Ability to translate technical information into accessible content for diverse audiences Requires U.S. Citizenship
