Instructional Designer (Onsite/Hybrid - Ashburn, VA)
Overview:
Ellumen is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team and support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) project. In this role, you will contribute to the development of IT Application Support Services, helping CBP personnel effectively utilize various CBP applications. You will design and develop educational materials and resources that enhance the IT knowledge and skills of CBP personnel, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design:
Apply the ADDIE Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology to analyze training needs, develop learning objectives, and create engaging and innovative learning solutions.
Content Development:
Create instructional materials such as briefings, reference guides, instructional materials, online help, simulations, and IT hardware/software demonstrations.
Technology Integration:
Utilize advanced technologies like gamification, mobile demos, avatars, animations, 3D modeling, and VR to enhance the effectiveness of learning solutions.
Agile Methodology:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, following Agile principles and using tools like JIRA, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Confluence to manage and ensure the timely development of instructional materials.
Continuous Improvement:
Regularly assess and update instructional content, keeping pace with technological advancements and evolving CBP requirements. Provide recommendations based on feedback and user needs.
Learning Strategy:
Work with project teams to recommend and implement learning strategies aligned with CBP's goals and objectives.
Web-Based Learning:
Develop web-based learning modules to support self-paced learning for CBP personnel, fostering continuous skill development. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain federal clearance (Active DHS Clearance preferred). Willingness to work onsite in Ashburn, VA. Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Proven experience in instructional design, specifically within IT application support services. Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Confluence; ServiceNow experience is a plus. Experience with eLearning design tools, including Captivate. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Animate, Character Animator, XD, RoboHelp). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong creativity and innovation in developing engaging learning materials. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
