Job Description

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree. Current, valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate.
Experience:
Three years of teaching experience; 5 years preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, keyboarding, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, stooping, turning and driving. Some lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other Requirements:
Valid, current Driver's license. Excellent written and verbal communication, strategic planning, problem solving, organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to keep information confidential. Knowledge of curriculum materials, content standards, and assessments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Provides coaching for staff within the assigned building to achieve curriculum, instructional, and assessment objectives. Assists the District level instructional coaches in coordinating instruction and provides continuous and regular support to new and beginning teachers. Collaborates with teachers and provides coaching to self-assess and identify skills and needs for professional growth. Assists teachers in developing a repertoire of teaching models, methodologies, strategies, and techniques. Assists teachers with planning and implementing student assessments. Assists teachers in analyzing data on student achievement for instructional planning purposes. Provides relevant information from research and professional literature on best practices in instruction. Assists teachers in identification and selection of appropriate instructional materials aligned to content standards. Observes teachers during instruction and provides feedback for their professional growth. Performs other duties as assigned.
