We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Science/Social Studies Teacher for upper elementary to join our dedicated team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to design compelling curricula, inspire students' curiosity about the natural and social worlds, and contribute to a thriving educational community. The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional skills, creativity, and a commitment to student success. Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for science and social studies courses Incorporate diverse learning technologies and instructional design strategies to enhance student understanding Apply AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and proofreading techniques to create clear, accurate educational materials Mentor students in developing critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment strategies, and school initiatives Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Support literacy education through creative writing exercises and reading comprehension activities Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Social Studies, or related field; higher education teaching experience preferred Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design Strong writing skills with experience in copy editing and proofing educational content Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment tools Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education or private school settings Familiarity with learning technology platforms and library services for research support Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and classroom management techniques Prior mentoring or tutoring experience is highly desirable Join us at Pleasant View School where your passion for education fuels student achievement!
