PRIMARY PURPOSE
Collaborate with campus and district administration and CAS/LL colleagues to develop plans, analyze data, and identify best practices that will support the District Mission. Lead/coach classroom teachers to ensure effective Tier I instruction through the PLC process that results in improved student performance on local and state assessments
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of educational programs Analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources Problem-solving skills Strong collaboration skills Task-oriented and a self-starter Ability to plan, schedule and support campuses, both administration and teachers, in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum Experience:
Three years of successful teaching experience as evidenced through the Texas appraisal system Experience teaching emergent bilingual students Elementary experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work collaboratively and train campus staff on Amarillo ISD instructional initiatives and best practices in emerging bilingual education. Model/coach Amarillo ISD emerging bilingual instructional initiatives and best practices with campus staff in instructional settings to assure implementation with fidelity. Assist instructional leaders at the district and campus level in designing teaching/re-teaching activities to increase emerging bilingual students' ability to meet standards on STAAR, TELPAS and other assessments. Keep informed of new Emerging Bilingual teaching strategies and techniques and shares with campus instructional leaders and with teachers. Support campus based and district assessment development to ensure they are equitable and appropriate for emerging bilingual students. Participate in campus and district instructional development. Analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources including but not limited to walkthrough data, Eduphoria reports, program evaluation and State assessment reports. Support the campus and district in implementation of instructional management tools. Develop and maintain resources to support effective Tier I instruction for emerging bilinguals.. Assist in the alignment, development, and revision of the Amarillo ISD scope and sequence with a focus on meeting the needs for emerging bilingual students. Assist educators in the planning and/or conducting of staff development activities related to implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), curriculum alignment, assessment lesson planning, design, and delivery. Assist in the implementation of a cohesive and comprehensive district-wide instructional delivery system, to include factors, such as state and district standards. Assist training on assessment practice for emerging bilingual students. Assist in training for emerging bilingual paraprofessionals. Assist in designing curriculum for newcomer students. Assist in providing training for parents of emerging bilingual students. Assist with training for community stakeholders. Assist in guiding the enrollment process for newcomer students. Provide Content-Based Language Instruction (CBLI) training for educators. Provide reviews for ESL and BIL teacher certification and provide Comprehensive Professional Development for teachers seeking to complete ESL/BIL certification. Manage software provided for emerging bilingual students and parents. Work directly with the District-level Academic Team on researching, developing and implementing best practices which support the District's goals and objectives related to effective classroom instruction for all students. Abide by State and Federal laws, District policies, campus expectations and Texas Educator Code of Ethics. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned
