Primary Purpose:

The Elementary Literacy Coordinator provides instructional leadership to improve reading and writing outcomes through the implementation of the Science of Reading. This role supports teachers in delivering engaging, student-centered literacy instruction and ensures effective implementation of campus HQIM and reading plans. The coordinator collaborates with administrators and teachers to analyze student data, guide instructional decisions, and improve outcomes. They provide coaching, facilitate professional development, model research-based instructional strategies and practices, and coordinate targeted interventions for struggling readers.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate Master's degree, preferred Advanced Reading Degree, preferred Dyslexia Certification, preferred

Required:

Science of Teaching Reading Certification Research Based Instructional Strategies Training Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of researched-based reading instruction methods Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Suite Ability to coach, lead and support staff Knowledge of reading, writing and literacy development Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
