Job Description

Category Assistive Technology Specialist Job Type Contract Bring your passion for empowering students and expertise in both assistive technology and educational assessments to a vibrant, supportive school environment near Buda, TX. As a specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping students with diverse learning needs succeed by assessing, recommending, and implementing personalized tools and strategies. You'll work hand-in-hand with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to unlock each student's full potential.
What You'll Bring:
Certification or strong experience as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) In-depth knowledge of assistive technology devices, apps, and software for K-12 students Proven background in evaluating students with learning disabilities and developing individualized education plans Experience collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities Adaptability and commitment to adhering to current special education guidelines Familiarity with current instructional interventions and assessment tools
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to determine the assistive technology and learning needs of students Consult with staff and parents to identify solutions supporting student access to the curriculum Train staff and students on the use of recommended devices and software Develop written reports, recommendations, and contribute to IEP meetings Stay current with advancements in assistive technology and special education best practices Serve as a resource to the instructional team, ensuring smooth integration of tools and accommodations Monitor and adjust technology tools as students' needs evolve This rewarding contract position offers you the opportunity to transform students' educational experiences through innovation and dedicated support.
