Summary We are seeking a dynamic Trainer to join our team at Houston Oaks Country Club. This role is essential in developing and delivering engaging training programs that enhance the skills of our staff and improve the overall guest experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Responsibilities Instructional Design:
Design, develop, and update engaging and effective training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, job aids, and other resources, utilizing best practices in instructional design and adult learning principles.
Training Program Development:
Collaborate with subject matter experts and Director of Training to identify training needs, define learning objectives, and design curriculum for various functional areas and levels within the organization.
Training Delivery:
Assist in delivery of training sessions in both traditional classroom settings and virtual environments, ensuring content is delivered effectively and engagingly, and that learning outcomes are achieved. Learning Management System (LMS)
Administration:
Assist in managing the organization's LMS, including course creation, enrollment, tracking, and reporting, to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of training programs. This will be across the Reach360, Storyline, or any other suitable authoring platform.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct post-training evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement. Continuously monitor and update training materials and delivery methods to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including department managers and executives, to understand their training needs and priorities, and to gain buy-in and support for learning initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications A genuine desire to work as part of a team and contribute positively to our workplace culture.
Experience:
3-5 years in hospitality or service-industry leadership, with at least 3 years specifically focused on training initiatives.
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (Articulate Rise/360/Storyline), survey tools (e.g., Medallia, SurveyMonkey), curriculum design, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication:
Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills; the ability to engage an audience of 5 or 500.
Analytical Mindset:
Ability to turn data (member scores, turnover rates) into actionable training plans. Results-oriented with the ability to manage complex projects and prioritize competing deadlines. Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of functioning independently while multitasking efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
