QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university (preference may be given to those working on a master's degree with a focus on Principal Certification); 2. Texas Certification in elementary education; 3. Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as an elementary classroom teacher; 4. Demonstrated ability to provide staff development and to work collaboratively with others.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Probationary/Term Contract:
187 days
SALARY:
$64,207/IA-3 Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provide assistance to the instructional staff, concerning the teaching/learning process and classroom management. 2. Visit classrooms and provide feedback and coaching as they relate to student learning needs and instructional issues. 3. Model exemplary lessons in the classroom. 4. Assist in teaching student groups as determined by the principal. 5. In collaboration with staff, utilize student data to recommend appropriate changes in instruction, materials and strategies. 6. Develop and monitor a plan to ensure that at-risk students receive additional assistance. 7. Stay abreast of curriculum issues and district standards and communicate those to the staff. 8. Help develop and present workshops that support the Campus Improvement Plan. 9. Work with parents to promote their involvement in school. 10. You have to have to be organized and well-versed with technology to analyze data and support teachers as they sharpen their analysis and data-response skills. 11. Must be able to manage a financial budget and acquire intervention support for students in need and track instructional interventions. 12. Adapt PD opportunities to meet the needs of adult learners and be flexible and adaptable to support the school vision of inspiring life-long learners. 13. Perform other curriculum duties as assigned by the building principal. 14. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
