The Instructional Designer LVL 1 facilitates the Training & Development Department in the development and creation of E-learning content for Elliott Electric Supply. The Instructional Designer LVL 1 reports to the E-Learning Supervisor. Candidates should express outgoing positive attitude; strong communication skills; ability to self-motivate; desire to learn; and exhibit professional behavior. Experience and mastery of job role related skills, programs, responsibilities, editing, design, and company processes can lead to E-Learning Department advancements and pay increases as opportunities arise.

Job Responsibilities:

Create, maintain, and update E-Learning Content (E-Trainings, Training Manuals, and Webinars). Learn how to create E-Learning content using Articulate 360 and Adobe Programs Work with Stores, NacSpace, and Stores Services Departments to create needed E-Learning content. Maintain thorough documentation and organization of work and progress on E-Learning content being created and updated. Learn EES programs, processes, procedures. Meet quality levels for designing E-Learning material, including grammar. Edit E-Learning content. Assisting in editing others work for design, punctuation, and functionality. Keep E-Learning Databases updated with notes as to where you are at on the project. Daily and Weekly. Travel and Train stores on occasion. Answer department phone calls and emails from stores and NacSpace. Assist in insuring the LMS is working correctly when uploading e-trainings. Be able to correctly upload e-trainings into LMS.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

1-2 years' experience in Microsoft Programs and Adobe Suite Programs. Must be well versed in using Excel. Experience in in some or all of the following: Adobe illustrator, InDesign, Premier, and Photoshop. Experience in creating E-trainings using Articulate and or SCORM Files is a plus. Bachelors' Degree preferred with emphasis in Mass Communication, Graphic Design, or Website Design. Strong communication skills in written and verbal communications. Be willing to work with a team and be a team player. Work 40 hours per week during regular office hours. Must independently apply sustained attention to complex, multi-step content development projects requiring analysis, sequencing, and quality review over extended work periods without repeated supervisory re-direction Exercises independent judgment in organizing and structuring course content from the perspective of an instructor, determining what information to include, in what sequence, and why each step matters to the learner. Receives, retains, and independently applies specific supervisory direction and instructional design feedback without requiring repeated instruction to produce work that meets department quality standards. Applies sustained concentration and critical thinking to independently analyze source material, identify instructional gaps, and develop accurate, sequenced training content from complex multi-step processes. Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time for training events. Ability to travel occasionally as needed, by car or plane. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
