The Secondary Advanced Academic Services Specialist strengthens instructional systems and classroom practice for advanced and gifted learners by supporting aligned curriculum, data-driven instruction, and consistent implementation of the district instructional framework. Through coaching, professional learning, and collaboration, this role advances GT services (inclusion model), Advanced Placement, and CCMR initiatives to improve student outcomes and expand access to rigorous learning opportunities.Qualifications:

Minimum three years teaching experience in subject area assigned Minimum three years' experience teaching Gifted and Talented StudentsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide coaching and campus support to teachers of advanced academic and gifted students to strengthen instructional practices, rigor, and student engagement. Model and support implementation of high-quality instructional practices aligned to gifted education best practices and the district instructional framework, including implementation of the WICOR (writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading) instructional framework to ensure consistent, high-quality Tier I instruction. Collaborate with AAS coordinators, campus leaders, and teachers to ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems, including year-at-a-glance documents (YAGs), unit overviews, and common assessments, in accordance with district expectations. Utilize EduHub and district-adopted high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) to ensure aligned, accessible curriculum resources and reduce redundancy across campuses. Support the development and implementation of differentiated instructional materials, enrichment opportunities, and advanced learning pathways for secondary students. Design and support secondary GT services through the inclusion model, ensuring appropriate differentiation and access to advanced learning within the general education classroom. Collaborate with teachers and campus staff to ensure alignment between advanced academic services, coursework, and core instruction. Plan, facilitate, and support professional learning aligned to district priorities and advanced academic programming, ensuring transfer into classroom practice. Support Strategic Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) by guiding teachers of advanced and GT students in data-to-action cycles, using student performance and instructional evidence to inform planning and instructional decisions. Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and feedback to improve instructional effectiveness and student outcomes for advanced learners. Assist with onboarding and support of teachers serving advanced academic and gifted students. Use multiple data sources (including student performance, AP, PSAT, and SAT data) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for growth in advanced academic programs. Support campuses in analyzing and applying data to improve instruction and increase student achievement for advanced learners. Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) by ensuring timely, targeted interventions aligned to student needs and performance data. Participate in Data Tours and instructional walkthroughs to gather evidence of instructional practice and translate findings into actionable next steps for campuses and teachers. Support continuous program improvement through data collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting. Coordinate and supportSAT/PSAT
preparation efforts to strengthen college readiness outcomes. Plan and support implementation of Advanced Placement (AP) Boot Camps to increase student success in advanced coursework. Facilitate and monitor AP Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) exams, including coordination, administration support, and alignment to district expectations. Assist with coordination of enrichment opportunities and advanced academic supports aligned to college, career, and military readiness (CCMR). Promote equitable access to advanced academic opportunities through support of identification, placement, and instructional practices. Collaborate across departments and campuses to ensure coherence of systems, resources, and supports aligned to district priorities. Support consistent implementation of district initiatives to strengthen system-wide effectiveness and student outcomes. Communicate program expectations, resources, and supports to campus staff and administrators. Provide feedback to AAS leadership and campus administrators regarding program implementation and instructional effectiveness. Participate in extended work hours as required, including evenings and Saturdays, to support advanced academic programming, professional learning, student events, and district initiatives. Plan, prepare, and actively participate in the implementation of the district's Gifted and Talented summer enrichment program (Camp SIP), including curriculum support, coordination, and on-site responsibilities. Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing professional learning related to gifted and advanced academic education. Compile, maintain, and submit reports, records, and documentation as required. Comply with all district, state, and federal policies and procedures. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with district and Academics & Accountability priorities.Working Conditions:
