The Curriculum Coach provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of services, which will include designing, planning, and modeling lessons. This person will provide instructional support to campuses in implementing programs designed to meet the needs of all students. They will assist the district in the development of instructional initiatives, staff development, curriculum writing, technology implementation, data disaggregation, and data interpretation.Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field required Master's degree preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate required Valid Texas ESL certification preferredExperience:
At least five years of successful teaching experience in assigned area Evidence of district/campus leadership Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum, state assessments, and lesson design in assigned area General knowledge of serving special populations of learners Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Organizational and technology skills The ability to work effectively with adult learners The ability to skillfully offer constructive feedback to facilitate change The ability to be flexible, open and willing to implement new ideas The ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities, projects and tasks The ability to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problemsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:
Serve as a content area specialist to assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align to district goals and curriculum. Collaborate with teachers in the development of daily lessons and materials selected. Assist in the development of assessments to measure student knowledge and skills for content areas grade levels. Assist in the development of scope and sequence for the content area grade levels. Monitor and review lessons in the learning management system. Work with district and campus administration to design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps. Work with teachers and campus administration to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps. Facilitate campus PLCs, using data to collaboratively plan instruction and intervention to meet student needs. Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling engaging, standards-based teaching as needed. Collaborate with district/campus administration and teachers to review and develop aligned curriculum components including assessments. Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners. Conduct teacher observations and/or walk-throughs and provide feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth on an ongoing basis. Work with district/campus administration and teachers in planning standards-based lessons and assessments aligned to the district curriculum. Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources. Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom. Attend district level training and provide campus level professional development in district initiatives. Assist with the campus strategic plan. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of campus and district initiatives. Attend campus and district meetings/training as assigned.Personal Skills:
