Job Summary:
The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for helping to create and implement classroom management systems and individualized behavior intervention plans for students with disabilities.
Essential Functions:
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and/or Analysis Create, train, and coach social skills implementation Lead district efforts to better understand and eventually create trauma informed practices Provide Professional Development to various groups to expand the knowledge of behavioral systems and best practices Engage in observation and feedback cycles regarding BIPs in progress Attend workshops to maintain current knowledge of new legislation and student advocacy service requirements Actively maintain or improve the external and internal image of the District, its divisions, and its schools Establish annual objectives as deemed appropriate by the supervisor Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner

Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or approved for USBE's Associate Educator License (AEL) in Special Education Non-licensed applicants: An Associate Educator License (AEL) from the Utah State Board of Education is required.
