Job Description

Elementary Instructional Coach, FT The Elementary Instructional Coach, having both content and instructional expertise, will partner with classroom teachers to support and improve classroom management, student engagement, student learning (proficiency/growth), curriculum implementation, technology integration, and other highly effective instructional practices. The Elementary Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based, effective instruction and student learning. In order to meet this purpose, the Elementary Instructional Coach will provide personalized, 1:1 support through coaching cycles and other personalized, relevant professional development experiences based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers and grade-level teams, with an emphasis on using data to inform decisions. Essential Functions Partner with teachers to improve instructional practice and student outcomes Provide individualized, classroom-based coaching, including modeling, observation, and feedback Facilitate professional learning for individuals, teams, and staff Support teachers and teams in analyzing student data to inform instruction Collaborate with PLC teams to strengthen instructional practices and student learning Build positive, trusting relationships with teachers and administrators React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned Support the vision, goals, and core values of

Coach teachers in planning and delivering standards-aligned instruction Support the implementation of curriculum, assessment, and instructional best practices Guide teachers in using assessment data to make instructional decisions Model effective, differentiated instructional strategies in classrooms Support teachers in implementing effective classroom management and student engagement strategies Support effective PLC practices Develop and provide resources to support instruction and curriculum implementation Assist in the development of curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials Maintain a confidential, professional, and collegial relationship with teachers Manage time and schedule flexibly to meet teacher and student needs Contribute to school and district improvement goals Participate in ongoing professional learning, including coaching-specific training and collaboration Communicate professionally and effectively with staff and administration Exercise professional judgment, including when to involve administration in matters related to student safety or ethics Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience Current Utah Teaching License Demonstrated knowledge of Utah content standards Experience with research-based instructional practices Strong understanding of instructional strategies, data-driven instruction, and effective PLC practices Experience integrating technology to support teaching and learning Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience preferred Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations Ability to design and facilitate impactful professional learning for adults Ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing Strong organization and communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines Commitment to contribute as a positive and collaborative member of a team Commitment to engage in ongoing professional learning and self-reflection Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree from an accredited college/university Deep knowledge of literacy and math development Experience with CKLA, i-
