Compensation:
$68,000-$84,000 per year with bonus opportunities and potential for annual merit increases. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and internal equity About You The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating high-impact learning experiences that support STIHL's commercial teams and reinforce our values of integrity, quality, and commitment to excellence. This role combines creative thinking with strategic execution to design instructional materials that are as rugged and refined as the STIHL products themselves. You'll collaborate closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to craft engaging training content for diverse audiences, from sales and service professionals to retail partners. Job Duties & Responsibilities Design and develop instructional content (eLearning, instructor-led training, videos, job aids, etc.) tailored to commercial team needs Align learning solutions with business goals and STIHL's customer-first approach Apply adult learning theories to enhance retention, engagement, and skill development Lead needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect input and feedback Maintain brand tone and personality across all learning materials All other duties and responsibilities as assigned Specifications Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or related field Certification in instructional design or learning development (ATD, CPLP, etc.) is a plus 3-5 years of experience in instructional design or corporate learning roles Experience working within commercial, retail, or technical training environments Familiarity with STIHL's industry or product categories is highly desirable Adaptability and creativity in solving learning challenges Strong collaboration and communication skills Detail-oriented with a knack for simplifying complex topics Available to travel by air 25%
