The YMCA is looking for an energetic, welcoming Programs Instructor to lead fitness, wellness, recreation, or enrichment classes for participants of all backgrounds and skill levels. What You'll Be Doing Conducts beginner and intermediate pickleball clinics for youth and adults Instructing programs (wellness, fitness, recreation, enrichment, or sports-based) in accordance with YMCA guidelines Preparing and organizing class content, materials, and equipment Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages participation and community-building Following YMCA safety, emergency response, and risk management policies Maintaining and reporting on equipment and supply needs Keeping accurate attendance and participation records Communicating program information and schedules, and referring members to other YMCA programs Attending required staff meetings and trainings Why This Job Is a Great Fit This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, coaching, or leading group activities and wants flexible hours alongside meaningful, mission-driven work. Qualifications Requirements Minimum age of 18 Prior experience instructing classes, teaching, or working in wellness, fitness, recreation, or a related field preferred Successful completion of a background check Certifications required within 30 days of start (as applicable to the class): First Aid/CPR/AED (valid 2 years, unless otherwise noted) Completion of required YMCA Risk Management and Safety training prior to start and annually thereafter Expectations Ability to plan and lead physical activities in various settings Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and other movements required by the specific class or activity Physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform essential job functions Adherence to YMCA policies on boundaries with children and teens, abuse risk management training, and mandated reporting requirements What Success Looks Like Participants feel welcomed, supported, and motivated in your classes.
