RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
Maintains records as required. Prepares lesson plans for all skill levels. Organizes and puts away class equipment. Attends all staff meetings and required training. Conveys information on programs and schedules. Follows all policies, rules, regulations and safety procedures. Motivate and lead class participants through fun, enjoyable classes. Serves as a role model to participants and lives the vision and values of the YMCA movement. Builds effective, authentic relationships with participants and helps them connect with the YMCA. Instructs pickleball lessons, clinics, and engagement programs in accordance with YMCA guidelines. Creates a mission-based environment which enables everyone to be engaged in the YMCA movement. Adheres to abuse risk management responsibilities and mandated reporting requirements. This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS TO BE A GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
: Minimum age 18. Must enjoy teaching others. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Ability to demonstrate pickleball instructor skills. Prior coaching or instructional experience preferred. Current state approved First Aid, CPR/AED Certificate. Ability to solve problems and make decisions under stress. Ability to incorporate YMCA Program Goals into each session. A positive energetic attitude with the ability to motivate others. Knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and instructional methods. Ability to effectively communicate with members, peers and supervisors. Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly in emergencies.
