This person should have some teaching experience along with dance experience and be ope to working with all age groups! Most of our recreational classes are for dancers ages 5-9. Teacher Description and Characteristics Fun, upbeat, positive energy As the teacher you control the energy in your classroom. Teachers should follow the COlab curriculum and refer to this when putting together their class structure. Teachers are responsible for creating recital dances at both the Summer and Winter showcases. You will find suggested routine ideas in the class curriculum package. Teachers are expected to play appropriate music and to have this music on a playlist to ensure class is productive and efficient. Teachers are expected to start and end classes on time. Teachers should address each other, parents, and directors in a professional and respectful way. Teachers are responsible for logging in and recording their hours. Teachers are expected to be at required COlab events and also to be at their classes each week. If you need time off for something please refer to the substitution protocol! Teachers are required to attend the staff kick off event and also a staff meeting once a month. Dress Code Expectation We love to see our teachers wear COlab attire to promote our brand. Teachers receive access to all merch packages for no charge and will receive exclusive merch throughout the year. If you are not wearing COlab we ask that you keep graphics to a minimum. When teaching a tap class please be sure to wear tap shoes. When teaching a Hip Hop class please be sure to wear tennis shoes. Extra Events Throughout the season we will participate in extra events like community fairs, nursing home performances, and our trunk or treat. Required events will be given to you upfront, but we appreciate our staff coming to anything that fits into their schedule. We feel this is important when creating community, not just with each other, but also with our dancers and families.
