4/8/2026 Soka University of America (SUA), Aliso Viejo, California invites applicants to fill a part-time adjunct instructor position to teach small group courses in dance to undergraduate non-majors in the fall semester of 2026 (starting September 8, 2026). The successful candidate will teach entry-level creative dance emphasizing imagination, choreography, movement, and improvisation to small classes of students with diverse dance and life backgrounds. Classes meet two times per week for two hours and 50 minutes. The instructor will also support rehearsals and end of semester recitals.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold an MFA in Dance or Choreography and have demonstrated success teaching related courses at the college or university level. Evidence of creative work and a demonstrated ability to inspire and attract students to dance courses will be requested. Candidates should demonstrate responsiveness toward and understanding of diverse student backgrounds and experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the university's mission to develop global citizens. Having the ability and willingness to work collegially is essential, as is an understanding of an interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum.

Salary:
