  • $132,345 Annually Length of Work Year 186 Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Job Description BUSD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our Visual and Performing Arts Department.
The ideal candidate will inspire students through a comprehensive dance curriculum, integrating technique, choreography, performance, and dance theory. We are looking for a creative educator who will contribute to a thriving school culture and actively support school-wide performances, showcases, and events. Responsibilities
  • Teach dance to students in grades K-12, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and cultural dance forms.
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with California Arts Standards for Dance.
  • Prepare students for school-wide performances, assemblies, showcases, and possible competitions.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers in the Arts Department and school-wide programs.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and growth.
  • Maintain appropriate records and communicate with students, parents/guardians, and staff..
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent engagement activities.
Required:
  • Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Dance (or eligibility for Intern Credential).
  • English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent).
Preferred:
  • Experience teaching dance to middle and/or high school students.
  • Choreography and stage production experience.
  • Background in culturally responsive pedagogy and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Ability to lead extracurricular dance teams or clubs.
