Job Description

Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance is seeking a part time dance instructors Instructors at Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance teach character development and leadership skills to youth and adults. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and experience in teaching several dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. Other experience includes choreographing and staging performances, creating lesson plans appropriate for different skill levels/ages, and facilitating a safe and positive classroom environment. Candidates must be comfortable with and enjoy teaching a wide range of ages and skill levels.
Other qualifications include:
  • The ability to set and remain accountable to personal goals
  • To be coachable and eager to learn new skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills so you can be an effective mentor and coach and so you can prepare clear student evaluations.
  • Working as an effective team member staging studio productions, executing special events, and attending regular staff training and meetings.
Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance incorporates leadership training in all dance programs. The candidate should be passionate about the power of dance to help students develop discipline and confidence, learn to set and achieve goals, and practice positive leadership skills. We are looking to fill teaching schedules on the following days: Tuesday afternoon/evening, Thursday afternoon/evening, and Friday afternoon/evening.
Please note:
We are looking for a long-term teacher ! As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to provide examples of their past choreography and be invited to teach as a guest instructor. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for dance classes, focusing on techniques and choreography. Instruct students of varying ages and skill levels, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment. Manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive learning atmosphere. Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and expectations. Lead warm-up sessions and provide constructive feedback to enhance students' dancing skills. Collaborate with other instructors to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
