We are looking for someone who loves working with children, brings positive energy into the classroom, and is interested in being part of a dance program where there is room to grow beyond simply teaching weekly classes . Position Highlights Flexible part-time schedule Opportunities to teach at multiple locations throughout the Vallejo/American Canyon/Benicia area Classes primarily serve children ages 3-13 Opportunity for additional classes and hours as our programs grow Leadership opportunities available for the right candidate Potential to assist with performances, special programs, workshops, camps, and academy events Room to take on greater responsibility within the academy over time What You'll Do Instructors may teach a variety of recreational dance classes, including: Ballet Hip-Hop Jazz Combination/Creative Movement Preschool Dance Beginning-level youth dance You do not need to teach every style. We are interested in hearing from instructors with strengths in one or more areas. Responsibilities include preparing age-appropriate lessons, creating an encouraging classroom environment, maintaining classroom structure, communicating professionally with academy leadership, and helping students build both dance skills and confidence. Who We're Looking For Our ideal instructor is: Energetic, warm, and comfortable working with children Dependable and punctual Confident managing a classroom Able to make dance fun while still providing structure Professional when interacting with students, families, and partner locations Interested in growing with an established dance program Comfortable working independently once trained A strong communicator and team player Previous dance teaching experience is preferred, but we are also open to candidates with strong dance backgrounds and experience working with children who are ready to develop as instructors. More Than a Teaching Position We are especially interested in candidates who want the opportunity to grow into leadership . As our academy expands, strong instructors may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities such as leading programs, mentoring other instructors, assisting with curriculum, coordinating performances or special programs, and supporting new academy locations. This is a great fit for someone looking for a flexible teaching opportunity now with the potential to become a larger role in the future. Schedule Part-time | Flexible Classes are offered on various weekdays and may include afternoon, early evening, and occasional weekend opportunities. Candidates do not need to be available every day.
