Using vibrotactile technology and adaptive teaching methods, we create a welcoming environment where everyone, including those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have other disabilities, can experience the joy of dance. Position Overview We are seeking passionate, adaptive dance instructors to lead inclusive classes for children, teens, and adults with a wide range of abilities and needs. Our ideal candidate is creative, compassionate, and excited to teach in an environment where every dancer is welcomed, supported, and empowered. We are currently hiring for our Centennial location and looking for instructors with morning and daytime availability during the week who are interested in private group classes and occasionally subbing for our Thursday evening classes. All of our classes are adaptive, and instructors must feel comfortable modifying movement and supporting dancers with varied needs. Assistants are also considered the default substitute for the classes they support. Current Needs Teachers with morning and daytime availability for private group classes Occasional Subbing for Thursday evening classes Responsibilities Teach and lead dance classes for students of varying ages and abilities, adapting instruction as needed.
Incorporate specific adaptations such as:
Verbal descriptions for students with visual impairments, seated dance adaptations for those with mobility challenges, ASL instruction or incorporation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students (training provided), and more Develop and modify lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students. Take attendance, track drop-ins/absences, and complete required monthly evaluations for all private groups and individual students. Foster an inclusive, creative, and supportive environment for all participants. Communicate regularly with students, families, caregivers, and staff to ensure progress and address any needs. Collaborate with the Feel the Beat team to support and uphold the organization's mission. Qualifications Enthusiasm and dedication to working with children, teens, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Effective classroom management and strong communication skills. Ability to teach and encourage a range of student levels and abilities/disabilities. Teach and adapt a variety of dance methods, techniques, and styles. Demonstrate flexibility in teaching students with mixed abilities in the same class. Maintain the safety and well-being of all class participants. Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on their development. Prepare choreography as needed and encourage student growth in performance skills. Attend all scheduled classes as agreed upon. Flexible Schedule:
Part-time position with flexible hours based on your availability. Compensation $30-$40 per hour , based on experience and role (instructor vs. assistant). Paid administrative time—such as long commutes, lesson planning, evaluations, and more—at $25 per hour for all employed teacher and assistant positions. Part-time employed position.
