Part-Time Dance Instructor Location:

Colorado Springs, CO - Springs Dance West at 4175 Centennial Blvd, 80907 and Springs Dance East at 5490 Powers Center Pt, 80920. Springs Dance is seeking a part-time dance instructor with an emphasis in ballet and jazz. Instructors at Springs Dance teach character development and leadership skills to youth and adults. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and significant experience in teaching several dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, and/or contemporary. Other experience includes choreographing and staging performances, creating lesson plans appropriate for different skill levels/ages, and facilitating a safe and positive classroom environment. Candidates must be comfortable with and enjoy teaching a wide range of ages and skill levels from very young children through adults.

Other qualifications include:

• The ability to set and remain accountable to personal goals
• To be coachable and eager to learn new skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills so you can be an effective mentor and coach and so you can prepare clear student evaluations.
• Working as an effective team member staging studio productions, executing special events, and attending regular staff training and meetings.

Springs Dance incorporates leadership training in all dance programs. The candidate should be passionate about the power of dance to help students develop discipline and confidence, learn to set and achieve goals, and practice positive leadership skills. Teaching schedule is Monday-Thursday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings. As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to provide examples of their past choreography and be invited to teach as a guest instructor.
