Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable dance instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about dance, enjoys working with children and teens, and can create engaging classes that inspire students while maintaining a structured learning environment. Connecticut Dance Academy, Farmington Valley's premier dance studio, couples many of the area's highest qualified instructors and choreographers with a friendly, family atmosphere that is welcoming to students of all abilities. Enrollment begins as early as age 2 with over 80 classes offered per week, a Performance Company that dances at venues throughout the area, as well as the region's top Competition Team, awarded numerous National Titles. The 5,000 square foot studio was recently ranked the top dance studio in the CT Now Best of Hartford Readers Poll and Best in the Valley by the Valley Press. Responsibilities Teach weekly dance classes to students of various ages and skill levels from pre-school to teens Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and choreography Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and performances as applicable Communicate professionally with studio staff and parents Maintain classroom safety and uphold studio policies Attend rehearsals and studio events as required Opportunities for additional classes, choreography assignments, and bonuses are available Requirements Previous dance teaching experience preferred Strong background in one or more dance styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, acro, or musical theater Ability to work effectively with children and young adults Excellent communication and classroom management skills Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Background check may be required
