About Tia Russell Dance Studio Tia Russell Dance Studio (TRDS) is a premier performing arts studio located in Hamden, Connecticut, dedicated to developing dancers, building confidence, and creating legends. Now entering our 14th season, we serve hundreds of students each year through high-quality dance education in a positive, disciplined, and family-centered environment. Our faculty is committed to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. We believe great instructors do more than teach skills—they mentor, inspire, and help students reach their fullest potential.

This position is for our 2026-2027 dance season. We are not hiring for summer programming.
Now Hiring:
Advanced Acro Instructor (Part-Time) We are seeking an experienced Advanced Acro Instructor to lead our Intermediate Acro Program. This instructor should be confident teaching proper progressions, spotting techniques, flexibility, strength, balance, and tumbling fundamentals while creating a safe and encouraging learning environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, and passionate about helping dancers develop strong technical foundations while building confidence. Responsibilities Teach weekly intermediate acro classes for school-age dancers. Safely instruct flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, tumbling, and acrobatic progressions. Demonstrate proper technique and provide individualized corrections. Utilize safe spotting techniques appropriate for each student's skill level. Prepare students for studio performances and showcases. Collaborate with the Artistic Director and faculty to ensure consistent technical standards. Maintain a positive, organized, and professional classroom environment. Qualifications Previous experience teaching Acro Dance and/or Tumbling to children and teens. Strong demonstration skills. Excellent instructional and classroom management abilities. Thorough understanding of safe spotting techniques and injury prevention. Ability to modify instruction for varying skill levels. Positive, encouraging, and professional teaching style. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented. Choreography experience is a plus. Schedule Part-time evening hours Additional rehearsals or performances may be required throughout the season. Why Join TRDS?
