Elementary School Instructor - Palm Beach County

Debate4Kids is an afterschool debate and public speaking club where students develop confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills through structured argumentation and guided practice. Programs at Debate4Kids are designed to meaningfully extend learning beyond the classroom and expand a child's mind through the development of persuasive reasoning, logical thinking, and respectful discourse. We prepare students to be the communicators, leaders, and critical thinkers of the 21st century!

Key Responsibilities Include:

Effectively manage a classroom with children ages between 8 yrs to 11 yrs old (Grades 3-5) Engage students in fun and relevant debate and public speaking lessons based on established curriculum and specific classroom needs Guide students through age-appropriate debate formats, structured argumentation, and public speaking exercises Observe and track students' progress, participation, and attendance Reinforce positive student behavior, respectful dialogue, and session rules Maintain a positive relationship with all students, families, and staff Communicate with management to discuss student progress, needs, and concerns Travel to assigned partner elementary schools to conduct weekly one-hour sessions

Qualifications:

Experience working with elementary-age children preferred Background in debate, public speaking, theater, speech & language, journalism, or related field is a huge plus Teaching or coaching experience (formal or informal) strongly preferred Willingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlook Deep appreciation for teamwork and drive to be part of a high-level team Ability to adapt to a changing environment and address varying student needs Reliable transportation required — instructor travels to school sites within Palm Beach County Clear background check is mandatory.

Pay:

$65.00 - $75.00 per hour
