Dance Instructor

WE are looking for a new dance instructor with a passion and dedication to teaching our dancers proper technique, while also developing their love of dance, to join our staff!

Requirements:

A minimum of 8 years of dance experience and training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. Previous experience as a dance instructor not required, but is preferred. College degree or other dance teacher certification/training is also preferred, but not required. Experience with competitive dance would be helpful.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Teach dance classes in a variety of dance styles to students with ages ranging from 3-18 yrs and a variety of levels, focusing on proper dance technique and terminology, and instruction. Instructor will be responsible for developing exercises and combos for each class, along with selecting appropriate music for the class. Instructor will also be responsible for choreographing dances for our end of the year recital for each class they teach, as well as assisting with music and costume selection. This is a part time position that requires between 6-10 hours each week, and availability between the hours of 4:00-9:00pm Mondays-Thursdays. Position will begin September 3rd, but will require training two weeks prior to starting. Please be sure to include your dance experience and training in your resume.
