Job Summary:
The Cheer and Tumbling Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing youth cheer and tumbling classes.
Essential Functions:
Oversee the daily operations of programs and monitor attendance for class rosters. Adapt lesson plans for the specific group or day as needed. Responsible for equipment set up and safety checks. Communicate with parents on any issues and concerns involving students. Responsible for the completion of all medical forms from staff and be aware of student's specific needs. Distribute parent notes, evaluations, class registrations, certificates and any medical forms (as needed) to your direct supervisor. Provide supervision for all students. Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District's safety program. Adhere to class schedule/times. Represent the Park District in a positive and professional manner. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a High School diploma and two years of experience in youth tumbling and cheer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
First Aid/CPR certified and required District training. Skilled and able to instruct in area of cheer and tumbling. Ability to manage and lead children in a recreational class setting. Flexible and creative to capture children's attention. Ability to communicate with the public. Understand and anticipate customer's needs as well as support a customer service environment. Ability to portray a professional image of the District. Experience working with children. Ability to interact well with children, parents and co-workers in a professional manner. Physical ability to sanitize and move heavy gym mats. Physical Demands/Work Environment Majority of time spent standing, lifting, kneeling, crawling, and moving quickly. May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.; including gym/tumbling mats. Exposure to large groups of children. Time spent in open space/gym and childcare setting. May be exposed to excessive noise from children. Scheduling, pay and benefits Part-Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) position
Pay:
