Job Description

The Dance Instructor is responsible for developing, organizing and instructing various forms of dance including hip hop, ballet, contemporary and/or jazz, to children aged 5 to 18 years of age as well as some adult classes. Prepares detailed lesson plans that are age appropriate. Responsible for the choreography, music selection and costume selection for the annual dance recital. In addition, plans and implements dance parties and dance special events as requested. Follows District safety standards, closely supervises children and provides a learning environment that is safe and fun for program participants.
Hours:
Thursday classes are available between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM for summer, June 11-July 30. Thursday classes are available between the hours of 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM for fall beginning in September. This job falls in paygrade PT7. The target hiring range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00 depending on qualifications. Prefer at least one to three years of experience in youth dance instruction including ballet, tap, contemporary and/or jazz, and acro.
