Migrant STEAM Summer School Specials Teacher (1 Dance/STEM)

Salary Range:
Contract hourly rate (Cert) or hourly rate (Non-Cert)
Contract Length:
June 10 through July 13, 2026 Tuesday & Thursday (8:00 am - 4:00 pm )
Immediate Supervisor:
Site Administrator & Director, Bilingual Services Department/MRSC-Region I Basic Function:
The instructor provides high-quality instruction tailored to the individual academic and developmental needs of each migrant student. They implement and teach an Art, Dance, or Physical Education curriculum for students in grades K-11 while integrating Reading, English Language Arts (ELA), Technology, and Mathematics concepts into specials' classes. The instructor collaborates with the Migrant Summer School Administrator by providing student academic progress and assessment data and monitoring and reporting daily student attendance. In addition, the instructor is required to attend and participate in all scheduled in-service training sessions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
? Implement a Dance/STEM Curriculum Pre-K-5th grades ? Provide differentiated instruction/ELD instruction based on the individual needs of students ? Supervise and provide direction for a classroom aide in support of instruction, if one is provided ? Must have the ability to facilitate a student-centered, project-based curriculum (must provide evidence) and integrate ELA/Reading, Math, and technology ? Must have recent
EXCELLENT
classroom management skills and proven ability to work with secondary (grades K-12) students
Qualifications:
? Understand and accept the philosophy of the Bilingual Services Department in reference to the education of Migrant students and/or English Learners ? Instructional experience and evidence of ongoing training in best-practice instruction in Art, Dance, or PE ? Prefer candidates with a valid Indiana Teacher's License and highly-qualified status for grade level (grades K-12), will consider candidates with experience who are not certified ? Evidence of ongoing training in best-practice instruction in Ai and Technology Integration. ? Knowledge of second-language acquisition theory and practice and migratory culture
