Job Description
Spin City Studio is looking for energetic, confident, and motivating Cycle Instructors to join our team. Our classes are rhythm-based, music-driven, and built around creating an experience—not just getting through a workout. We want instructors who can walk into the room, take control of the energy, connect with their riders, and make 45 minutes feel like the best part of their day. What You'll Do Lead 45-minute rhythm-based indoor cycling classes Coach riders through flats, jogs, hills, sprints, pushes, and recovery Ride and coach safely to the rhythm and beat of the music Create intentional class plans with appropriate resistance, RPM, and recovery Build playlists that support the structure and energy of the ride Give clear cues for resistance, speed, positioning, and transitions Demonstrate proper bike setup and riding form Provide options and modifications for new and experienced riders Help first-time riders feel comfortable clipping in, setting up their bike, and understanding the class Motivate the room while still prioritizing safe riding and proper form Learn riders' names and build genuine relationships with clients Arrive early and completely prepared for every scheduled class Check the room, bikes, instructor equipment, microphone, music, and lighting before class Help maintain a clean and organized cycling room Participate in theme rides, studio events, challenges, community rides, and special classes when needed Represent Spin City Studio professionally inside and outside of the studio What We're Looking For Our ideal Cycle Instructor is: Confident and comfortable leading a room Energetic, encouraging, and personable Able to coach while riding and staying connected to the music Comfortable speaking on a microphone Reliable, punctual, and prepared Able to read the room and adjust their coaching when needed Welcoming to beginners without taking away from the experience of experienced riders Coachable and willing to continue developing as an instructor A team player who wants to be part of the Spin City community You do not have to have the loudest personality in the room to be a great instructor. We want different personalities, music styles, and coaching styles on our schedule. What matters is that you can confidently lead, connect, and give riders a great class. Qualifications Previous indoor cycling or group fitness experience is preferred, but we are open to training the right person. A recognized indoor cycling or group fitness certification is preferred. CPR/AED certification must be current or obtained within the required timeframe before independently teaching. All instructors must successfully complete Spin City Studio instructor training and auditions before being placed on the regular schedule. The Spin City Standard Being a Spin City instructor is more than pressing play on a playlist and calling out numbers. You're responsible for the entire room. The music. The coaching. The energy. The safety. The connection. We want riders to walk in knowing they're going to be challenged—but also knowing they're welcome, whether it's their first ride or their 100th. Every instructor should have their own personality and style. We don't want a schedule full of people who sound exactly the same. We want you to bring something that's yours while still delivering the Spin City experience every single class. We can teach you our format. We can develop your coaching. We can help you become stronger on the mic. What we need from you is the willingness to learn, show up, and genuinely care about the people on those bikes.
