Part-Time Dance Teacher Description:

Metrowest Dance Academy partner with Metrowest YMCA, Framingham, to provide dance classes for the community. We are currently seeking a dance teacher to teach ages 3-6 on Saturday mornings throughout the school year. The classes run 9-11am and start on November 7th. Classes are in creative movement and ballet foundations. All run for 30 minutes and each session lasts for 8 weeks. Training is provided by Metrowest Dance Academy along with teaching support, provided lesson plans and onsite visits and feedback through the year. This is a rewarding job for someone fairly new to teaching looking to get a lot of experience teaching the very young dancer.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Thorough dance training Must enjoy working with very young students Creative and imaginative lessons Be punctual and run classes on time Ability to manage a group of up to 8 dancers as sole teacher Be able to travel to and from Metrowest YMCA independently (a travel stipend will be considered for the right applicant).

Desirable:

Professional dance training at College level (currently training or recent graduates will all be considered) Previous experience of assisting/teaching younger children in dance classes Dance pedagogy training at College level (in modern or ballet)

Directed by Gemma Williams, RAD Examiner and Tutor. Providing classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary to students aged 3 - adult.
