Job Description

About the Role Leading Edge Academy of Dance is looking for a passionate and dedicated Ballet Instructor to help grow our classical dance program. Operating out of our 3,600-square-foot facility featuring three individual studio spaces in Frederick, we provide a welcoming, non-competitive environment where students of all ages can discover the joy of dance. While the primary focus of this role is classical ballet (including Pre-Ballet through advanced levels), instructors with crossover experience in Modern, Jazz, Tap, Acro, or Creative Movement are highly encouraged to apply! We believe that exceptional educators come from a variety of backgrounds. Whether you are a veteran ballet master with decades of pedagogy experience or a talented, emerging teacher looking for a supportive studio to build your career, we want you on our team.
What You Will Do Classical Instruction:
Lead structured, engaging ballet classes focusing on foundational technique, proper alignment, barre work, and center floor combinations.
Curriculum Development:
Design age-appropriate lesson plans that balance discipline with a love for movement.
Choreography:
Create original, beautiful pieces for our studio performances and seasonal showcases.
Student Mentorship:

Experience with community outreach programs or local dance community involvement is a massive plus!) Candidate Qualifications A strong, demonstrable background in classical ballet training and technique. A genuine passion for teaching and the patience to work with diverse age groups, from young beginners to advanced teens. Excellent classroom management skills and a positive, encouraging demeanor. While prior teaching experience is preferred, we offer mentorship and are absolutely willing to train promising candidates who possess a deep love for dance education. Why Join Leading Edge?
Competitive Compensation:
We offer a highly competitive sliding scale of $20.00 to $45.00 per hour, rewarding your dedication, performance, and loyalty to the studio.
Top-Tier Facility:
Teach in our spacious, well-equipped three-studio facility.

We prioritize artistic expression and holistic student development over high-pressure competition.
Growth Opportunities:
Ongoing support for newer teachers to refine their pedagogical skills.
