Mid-Maryland Performing Arts Center (MMPAC) Mid-Maryland Performing Arts Center is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and passionate dance educators to join our faculty. We are looking for instructors who are committed to providing high-quality dance education while fostering confidence, creativity, and a love of dance in students of all ages and experience levels. Successful candidates will contribute to a positive, inclusive studio culture and work collaboratively with fellow faculty members to prepare students for performances and continued artistic growth. Position 1: Hip Hop Dance Instructor Summary The Hip Hop Dance Instructor will teach engaging and age-appropriate hip hop classes for recreational and pre-professional dancers. The ideal candidate has extensive training in hip hop styles and enjoys creating an energetic, supportive classroom environment that encourages confidence, musicality, and self-expression. Qualifications Strong training and experience in hip hop dance styles Experience teaching children and teens of varying skill levels Ability to create engaging choreography for performances and recitals Strong classroom management and communication skills Professional, dependable, and positive attitude Passion for mentoring young dancers Responsibilities Teach weekly hip hop classes for multiple age groups Develop lesson plans that build technique, musicality, and performance quality Choreograph recital and potential other showcase routines Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment Communicate effectively with students, families, and studio staff Attend faculty meetings, rehearsals, and studio events Position 2: Multi-Genre Dance Instructor Summary The Multi-Genre Dance Instructor will potentially teach a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, modern, tap, and hip hop. The ideal candidate is a versatile educator who values technical excellence while inspiring creativity, discipline, and confidence in every student. Qualifications Training and teaching experience in multiple dance styles Strong understanding of dance technique Experience teaching students from preschool through high school Excellent communication and classroom management skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs Professional, organized, and collaborative Responsibilities Teach recreational and pre-professional classes across multiple dance genres Create structured lesson plans that develop technical and artistic skills Choreograph recital and potential other showcase routines Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with fellow faculty and participate in studio events, rehearsals, and meetings What We're Looking For Passion for dance education and student development Commitment to creating an inclusive, encouraging learning environment Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and faculty Reliability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills Previous teaching experience preferred Degree or on track to complete degree preferred Join our team and help inspire the next generation of dancers while contributing to a supportive and thriving performing arts community.
