The instructor will provide high-quality movement-based instruction that integrates improvisational dance practices with somatic approaches and yoga methodologies, supporting students' technical development, physical awareness, creative inquiry, and overall well-being. Duties:
Responsibilities include course preparation, instruction, assessment of student progress, and participation in departmental activities related to the course as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate significant professional experience in contemporary dance and yoga instruction, a strong understanding of somatic practices, and a commitment to inclusive and student-centered pedagogy within a diverse academic and artistic environment. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
