Dance Coach Catholic Diocese of Lansing Flint, MI Job Details Part-time 20 hours ago Qualifications Team supervision Working with high schoolers Full Job Description Powers Catholic High School in Flint is seeking a Dance Coach. This is a part-time position that reports to the Athletic Director. The Dance Coach is responsible for leading and managing the Powers Catholic High School Dance Program in a manner consistent with the school's mission and Catholic identity. This position provides instruction, supervision, and mentorship to student athletes while promoting skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive and competitive dance program. Plan and conduct regular practices that build technical skill, conditioning, and performance readiness. Choreograph routines for athletic events, school functions, and competitions. Supervise students during all practices, events, and travel to ensure safety and compliance with school and athletic policies. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Support the Catholic mission of the school by encouraging character development, service, and participation in faith based activities. Communicate effectively with students, parents, administration, and staff regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice spaces in a safe and orderly manner. Represent Powers Catholic High School with professionalism at all events and competitions. Required Qualifications Prior coaching or dance instruction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of dance techniques, safety standards, and performance preparation. Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor high school students. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Powers Catholic High School. Successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications CPR and First Aid certification. Experience working with high school aged students in athletics or performing arts. Ability to coordinate youth outreach, clinics, or community engagement activities. Working Conditions Part‑time position with hours aligned to practices, performances, competitions, and school events. Requires physical activity, including demonstrating dance techniques and supervising active students. Work occurs in gymnasiums, practice studios, and off‑site event locations.
