Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dependable Tai Chi Instructor to lead engaging classes for participants of varying ages and skill levels. The instructor will create a welcoming and supportive environment while teaching Tai Chi principles, movements, breathing techniques, balance, flexibility, and overall wellness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical health, mindfulness, and community engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and lead safe, effective, and engaging Tai Chi classes. Instruct participants on proper techniques, posture, breathing, and movement sequences. Modify exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels, physical abilities, and participant needs. Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere. Monitor participant safety and respond appropriately to emergencies or incidents. Assist with program promotion and participant retention efforts.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience teaching Tai Chi in a group setting. Certification in Tai Chi instruction. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with diverse populations, including older adults and beginners. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred. Commitment to providing excellent customer service and fostering a welcoming environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to demonstrate Tai Chi movements and techniques. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously during class instruction. Ability to lift and move light equipment as needed.
Schedule:
Part-time, flexible hours based on program needs, including mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications and experience.
Mission Focus:
The Tai Chi Instructor plays a key role in promoting health, wellness, balance, and lifelong fitness through quality instruction and meaningful participant engagement.
