Job Description

Overview We are seeking a warm, dependable, and high energy Early Childhood Dance Instructor to join our teaching team at CC and Co Dance Complex. The ideal candidate loves working with young dancers and has a strong foundation in dance education paired with an understanding of early childhood development. This role includes teaching weekly classes for ages 2 to 5 and Kindergarten to Grade 2 in a supportive studio environment. You will help create a joyful classroom where dancers feel safe, confident, and excited to learn while building strong fundamentals through creative, age appropriate instruction. Responsibilities Develop and teach age appropriate classes in Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Jazz for preschool and early elementary ages Create engaging lesson plans that blend structure, imagination, and foundational technique Lead classes that build coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility, and confidence Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment with clear expectations Use effective classroom management and redirection strategies that support young learners Communicate with families and staff as needed regarding progress, placement, and classroom needs Support studio standards for safety, attire, arrival routines, and dancer care Participate in occasional studio events, observations, or trainings as scheduled Maintain organization of classroom materials and ensure spaces are left clean and ready for the next class Experience Prior experience teaching preschoolers or working in early childhood settings is strongly preferred Dance teaching experience required, with comfort teaching foundational Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Creative Movement Knowledge of early childhood development and age appropriate teaching strategies Experience with classroom management and behavior support for ages 2 to 7 Ability to plan lessons with progression and consistency from week to week Strong communication skills and a reliable, professional presence CPR, First Aid, or early childhood certifications are a plus but not required Additional skills that are a plus Experience supporting performances, recitals, or in studio events Comfort using music, props, and simple visual tools to keep young dancers engaged Experience with creative curriculum building for early learners Background in preschool education, childcare, or youth instruction in any setting
