Surf Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructor to join our team. As a surf Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in various disciplines, including surf camps, special programs, and private lessons. You will be able to educate and inspire students of all ages while promoting a safe and positive learning environment. We cater to the islands of Wrightsville Beach, Topsail Island, and Figure Eight Island. We offer the highest compensation for instructors in the industry, depending on your past experience. Pay ranges from $15hr to $25hr. Private lessons are paid upon the lesson, starting at $40 for a 1.5-hour lesson (first-year rate) with an additional $10 per student in the lesson, along with additional rates based on experience.

Duties:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the curriculum
• Provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of each student
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form in the respective discipline
• Ensure the safety of all participants during classes and activities
• Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on performance
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate events and activities
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant information ###

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback
• Must be an intermediate to advanced surfer.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
• Ability to manage themselves in a variety of water conditions.
