Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and passionate Dance/Acro Teacher to inspire students of all ages through dynamic dance and acrobatics instruction. In this role, you will develop engaging curricula, foster a positive learning environment, and guide students in mastering movement techniques across various styles. Your enthusiasm for dance, acrobatics, and child development will motivate learners to reach their full potential while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate creativity, confidence, and physical skills in a vibrant educational setting. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive dance and acro curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of ballet, theater dance, and acrobatics. Lead engaging classes that promote proper technique, flexibility, strength, coordination, and artistic expression. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning and growth. Develop lesson plans that align with developmental milestones and incorporate creative activities such as photography projects or theatrical improvisation. Provide individualized coaching and tutoring to help students improve their skills and overcome challenges in dancing or acrobatics. Maintain safety standards during physical activities by supervising students closely and ensuring proper use of equipment. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education accommodations, and event planning for performances or showcases. Qualifications Proven experience in teaching dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or acrobatics with a focus on working with children or adults. Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster a supportive learning environment. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education, preschool experience, and behavior management strategies. Ability to develop creative lesson plans that incorporate diverse activities like sewing for costume design or culinary projects related to performance arts. Excellent communication skills for working with students of varying ages and backgrounds. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom experience in arts education settings. Passion for working with children and a commitment to nurturing their artistic talents while promoting safety and confidence.
