Job Description

Our Sports Department is seeking reliable and high-energy Gymnastics Instructors to join our team in Fall 2026! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead groups of children, ages walking through 18, through a prescribed program of activities involving fine and gross motor development in areas of strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and trick development and/or cheer routines. Evaluate participants' individual skill and readiness levels on a daily basis and provide for appropriate grouping within class. Assess and evaluate development for beginner, intermediate and advanced activities. Report on progress of child's development. Utilize equipment appropriately with activities and incorporate skill development. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Clean up area after each session. Reports damaged equipment. Participate in proper implementation of Safety Guidelines, elevating the level of Safety awareness among all participants and staff. Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to instill and encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age Gymnastics Instruction Certification or prior gymnastics experience (either competing or coaching) Ability to relate effectively to children of all ages and possess the ability to deal with a variety of different personalities, as well as learning level of participants Current certification in instruction for Gymnastics or equivalent experience Must be reliable - punctuality is a non-negotiable Experience working with youth; willingness to work with children and teens of varying ages and abilities Experience working with diverse populations preferred, with a commitment to inclusion and belonging Strong communication skills: must be able to command attention of participants while remaining approachable; must be able to communicate effectively with parents/guardians and other YMCA members and staff
Hours:
Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends. Program classes run late afternoon, early evenings, and weekend mornings/afternoon.
Pay:
the rate is $18.03+ per hour, depending on experience level.
