Job Description
The Connection, a community-based nonprofit organization in Summit, NJ, is searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Dance Instructor to join our Dance Department. We offer a comprehensive dance program serving parent/child, preschool, school-age, team, and adult students. In this role, you will: Instruct dance classes in accordance with course descriptions and curriculum using proper terminology and accurate verbal and physical demonstrations. Create a fun, positive, and safe learning environment that encourages students of all ages and abilities to learn and grow. Prepare for each class with appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials. Monitor student progress and provide encouragement and constructive feedback. Make recommendations regarding equipment, supplies, and opportunities to enhance existing or develop new classes. Assist with department performances, showcases, and special events as needed. - Beginner Ballet I (Ages 5-7) Wednesday 6:45-7:45 PM
- Adult Beginner Jazz 7:45-8:45 PM
- Adult Beginner Tap Thursday 3:45-4:45 PM
- Intermediate Ballet I/II (Ages 9-11) 4:45-5:45 PM
- Beginner Ballet/Tap/Jazz (Ages 5-7) Saturday 10:00-10:45 AM
- Parent & Child Ballet/Movement 11:45 AM-12:45 PM
- Beginner Hip Hop I/II (Ages 6-9) 12:45-1:45 PM
- Hip Hop Flip Flop (Ages 4-6) Additional opportunities to substitute and teach other dance classes may also be available throughout the year. Qualifications Dance training and/or performance required. Previous dance teaching experience preferred. Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude. Compensation $23.00
